More mouths than I can count and yet none seem right, none feel as familiar.
I don't understand why you walked away before our fire burned to its fullest glory.
I probably never will.
The choice wasn't mine, although I wish it was.
So I go from one to another, looking not for you, but that moment of ecstasy you and I once shared.
Even though it didn't last forever.
Even though I will never have you again.
A little before 25 and my faith is slowly starting to fade.
Why would you do that to me, build me up and then break me like that?
Like it didn't even matter to you.
I miss making love to you.
I miss your touch, your taste, your embrace.
I miss beat of your heart as we lay naked, sharing silence comfortably, like veteran lovers.
But you know what I miss the most?
The way your eyes would light up as you told me your stories.
Life, love and everything in between.
It feels strange to accept what was once so beautiful to you doesn't matter at all anymore.
Maybe I'll find something like that again, eventually, with time.
Or maybe I won't.
I don't know.
If there's anything that I've learnt in life, it's that great things seldom last forever.
You weren't the first one to abandon me.
And you certainly won't be the last.
As I go on my adventures, maybe I'll eventually forgive you.
And forget.
That's all I really want at this point.
I don't want you, I only want this pain to go away.
